Engineers In Action (EIA)

To promote initiative and development orientation among students in terms of knowledge and skills, and at the same time create opportunities for students of the two schools to exchange and learn, Can Tho University and the National University of Science and Technology The Taiwanese team coordinated to implement the EIA (Engineers In Action) volunteer program from August 13, 2022, to August 23, 2022, with a total of 21 students, including 9 foreign students (NTUST).

In the project, students built a creative park to re-design the landscape near the toilet from scientific products extracted from elementary school textbooks such as periscopes, sound transmission systems, rope ladders and a musical wall at Trung Thanh 2 primary school in Co Do district.

Besides that, we also did upgrading the toilets, the students designed the control system and reinstalled the water, electricity, and lighting systems to improve the safety of the students and the beauty of the school.

Because the need for drinking water is an urgent issue for primary school students, EIA 2022 builds a project to upgrade water purifiers and install air quality testing equipment. We take advantage of the old water purifier system, design a filter system that can supply 30l/hour, and use solar power, so it saves money because it does not depend on the system industrial power grid. In addition, the students also cooperated with NCU students to support the installation of air quality testing equipment at the school to help control air indicators and issue warnings of danger levels through the website and electronic led board.

EIA 2022 also organizes a training session on the operation and maintenance of products and helps to raise the awareness of students and the cultural exchanges of the two countries. Finally, the EIA project to build a playground for primary students, helping children to become more connected, raising awareness about environmental protection, reducing stress in school, and supporting raising facilities for primary school students. At the same time, this is an opportunity for Vietnamese and Taiwanese students to exchange cultures and languages ​​to strengthen the friendship between the two countries.

In particular, 21 members of EIA 2022 had 10 days of practical experience together becoming real engineers, together creating an excellent volunteer project in our way. This is an unforgettable memory for each member of EIA 2022, creating a premise for future community projects to exchange between countries.

Finally, I am lucky that I received a leadership that brings for me precious experiences when I was a student at University. I have learned how to create a foreign project, how to manage a financial project, and how to operate my member to finish the project. Honestly, I want to send sincere thanks to Assoc. Prof. Thanh give me this opportunity to try and grow up. I want to send thanks to the volunteers to Co do district when they embraced the enthusiast supporting for the EIA project. One more time, I love and send thanks to my members of EIA 2022 due to their younger efforts that we cultivate in EIA reminiscence.
