Mekong Environment Forum
Project communication assistant at Mekong Environment Forum
Mekong Environment Forum, or MEF, is an non-for-profit and independent policy forum for environmental scientific information, news and studies of the Mekong-nurtured ecosystems and wetlands, including the Lower Mekong Delta.MEF operates in cooperation with Can Tho University's administrative support. The forum began as an initiative championed by Nguyen Minh Quang, James Borton, and Mikio Oishi and was established in June 2017 out of their shared passion for Mekong environment and wildlife. It is staffed by a group of committed individuals, notably Gary Sands and Adam Christopher Hunt, and supported by a wide range of contributors many of whom are environmental activists, independent experts, students and volunteers in the Mekong Delta.
The MEF was formed in response to the public’s growing concern about the impacts that Mekong mainstream dams and climate change would pose on the Lower Mekong Delta’s water and food security, and the livelihoods of millions of people.
MEF is my bride to widen my horizon about international Professors in the Netherlands, UK, and USA. I am lucky that I received a project communication assistant to support technical tasks for an international MEF partner. Firstly, I always set up devices and software in many workshops online and offline.
Besides that, I supported foreign partners in environmental projects when they worked in Can Tho city. During this time, I could enhance my speaking skill in the academic and reality environment with the English language.
Secondly, I also received tasks about infographics of most MEF design products from 2020 to 2022, so I improved my skills in Adobe software such as Photoshop and Premiere. Not only did I have a part-time job in MEF, but I also built the base to design the user interface of my major as the outline and mixing color. For example, the main control interface of the graduation thesis applied a knowledge icon to visualize text that brings convenient operation for the user. In the gallery, I will show all workshops and my infographics.
Especially, I have had the opportunity to join the design team for managing the MEF website and WV Tracker project in the near time that I could study databases as input data from surveys in Mekong Detal. On the website, not only did I design the idea for the background and outline, but I also uploaded some posts on the MEF website.
Honestly, I want to send sincere thanks to my Ph.D. Nguyen Minh Quang gives me this opportunity to try and grow up. I studied precious experiences from him when I was a student at University. I have learned how to create a foreign project, the rules in the organization, and the mindset in work.
I love and send thanks to my members of MEF due to their younger efforts that we cultivate in MEF reminiscence.
Thanks for all.
